nothing exciting

Nothing much exciting happened today. Went to the commissary with John, the farrier came and the dogs played outside...woo hoo...fun times....

oh wait...and the baby birds that we thought were dead in the garage, are NOT dead...they were just tricking us..

Jun 28- Another bird

This guy fell out of the nest by the front door. We tried to get him back up there but it was just too high. So we put him in the bushes near where he was. He isn't there now so either he is well hidden or something got him.

I'm runnin a B&B

Cept the B&B stands for bunnies and birds in my case. I have sooo many of them outside. I get dive bombed when I go outside from all the crazy birds.

Saw this little guy out in the pasture sitting on some stuff. He half hopped half flew into the thicket so hopefully he will be ok...

oh yeah....and it's HOT!

June 26 Very very hot...

Very very very very hot in Texas.....seriously it sucks. I had an appointment in the morning and was home by 9:30. It was so dang hot that we did nothing nothing nothing all day.

Charlie, also did nothing....but that's pretty normal for him.

oh...update on my garage birds. I think the heat killed them since I can see at least one dead baby up there. The parents are sticking around, but I haven't seen any movement from the babies.. :(

Still ugly...

But looking better....They kicked one out of the nest a few days ago. I hate finding dead birds, but I try not to question nature too much. Survival of the fittest and all that.

Hot Hot day...

No new picture today...sorry....I just couldn't do it. It was way too hot.....

Got up and tried to cut the grass before it got hot....well I started mowing at 8 in the morning and by 8:30 or so it was almost 90 out......I did get a bunch done though so John didn't have to mow...

Then it was inside to cool off.....then a Doctor's appointment where they put me in a room and seriously forgot about me, then to Walmart where they ignored me in the check out line.....apparently I am invisible today...

I will leave you with a picture though....an oldie, but one of my favorites....me and one of my BFF's after a super fun trail ride on a hot day....

Jun 23 Yummy Produce

John got off work early so we went to Dallas to go to the Farmer's Market. We got some yummy yummy fresh fruit. It all tasted soo much better than the stuff you get at the store.

Hmm..what else did we do?? Oh yeah, we went to Olive Garden for lunch. We were both stuffed when we left and we only spent $14 and that included the tip! John just wanted salad and I got some ravioli. We ate a ton of salad/breadsticks and then he ate some of my pasta.

Then off to Hobby Lobby where we spent a crazy amount of time seeing about framing John's jerseys.

FINALLY we came home and were very very hot and tired...

Be Afraid- Be Very Afraid...

John didn't have to work very long today so we packed up Jonas and headed down to Mexia. Boring boring boring drive. Jonas got carsick in his crate on the way down, but otherwise was good.

John's sister and niece came over to visit which was nice since I've never met them. Had a good day, and now I'm tired from the drive...

June 21-Smarter birds!

Here's a bird who's mother was smart enough to build a nest OUTSIDE. I think there are 3 in the nest, but they usually hide when I come out so I had to snap this one quick!!

Had a good Sunday. Went to church which was really weird without the girls there. Pastor Robert is on vacation which is a bummer, but church was still great as usual!!

After church I went to meet John to go to the mall. The mall was a wasted trip because the store he needed has closed down. So, we headed out to lunch. I didn't know what I was in the mood for but I was getting REALLY HUNGRY. Then John suggested Planet Burrito and it sounded good. OMG IT WAS HEAVENLY!!! It was one yummy burrito!!

Came home...tried to take a nap since I had a headache, but it didn't happen. The dogs barking, phone ringing.....so I gave up. I got up and got out the electric trimmers and hacked that stupid pointy bush out front back a TON. Still need t clean it up...but I did feel accomplished afterwards!

Baby birds

There are stupid birds that live IN my garage. Sometimes I have to shut the garage during the day and I feel awful about it. During the night the mama is usually in with the nest until morning when I let them out.

I hope they get cuter soon because they are UGLY!!

June 19-Vet and the movies

Apparently I only have dog pictures lately!!

Took Jonas to the vet in the morning and they were PACKED! We waited over an hour, but they are so great and cheap that I don't mind waiting. Usually they get you in and out right away. It was good for Jonas though. He got to hang out in the waiting room with a bunch of other dogs and people. He was a really good boy and looked giant next to the 7 week old Jack Russel!

Then John and I went into Southlake to see The Proposal. Highly recommend it...very very funny!! Ate a ton of popcorn and drank too much soda.

Came home and John made me a yummy yummy steak for dinner!

I am Jonas...hear me roar!!

Be afraid...be very afraid!!

June 16 Major Breakthrough

Major major breakthrough today!!! Griffey actually PLAYED with Jonas!!

Jonas wants a beer

Had a pretty productive day...mowed the lawn for two hours this morning so John wouldn't have so much to mow when he got home. My ankle is hurting from mowing, but the exercise felt good.

I found a bunny while I was mowing, and tried to put him in the thicket, but apparently he was hurt and didn't make it.....that makes me sad.

Talked to Alyssa on Facebook chat...that made me happy!!

and the picture of the day has no bearing on anything I did today, but he is cute..

Empty for a month

a
First day without the girls. It's so quiet when they are gone!!

Gave Griffey a MUCH needed bath and furminated the crap out of him so he is shiny and beautiful now!

Made Enchiladas for dinner...they were yummy as always!!

Oh...and I'm so happy that Allison made her bed before she left!!

Ok...I have about a billion and 2 chigger bites all over my butt and legs....and this stuff doesn't work...

June 11 Storm damage

Went into Ft Worth to sign some papers AGAIN for the new car, then decided to go see a movie. Tried to go to the 11:40 movie, but they were having issues due to the storm the night before so we went and got a margarita and some chips at On the Border. Then we just drove around Ft Worth until it was time to see the movie. We saw Land of the Lost which was SOOOO FUNNY!!

Here's our tree in the pasture that is leaning a bit due to the storm!!

Before the storm...

ugh...we had a NASTY storm tonight...complete with tornado warnings....

When the storm hit you couldn't see off the porch at all. I had already put the cats in the bathroom so I wouldn't have to worry about them if we had to hurry up and take shelter!

Kids were supposed to go to the Rangers game with Katie's church, but didn't quite make it..

Kacie is mean...

Not really....but I love this picture!!

Took Mom to the airport today and then went and picked up the new car....2010 Toyota Camry...I can't tell you much about it yet because we only got it today...

Monday, June 8, 2009

Mom says...."I'm done!!"

Went trail riding today with mom. Horses were great, trails were great, it was a little too hot, but for the most part it wasn't too bad.

We rode for about 6 miles before we quit....

Here's mom saying...."I'm done..."

11 weeks 14 pounds

Had a non eventful day...Went to church this morning. 10:45 service which I hate because it's SOOO CROWDED, but it was great as usual.

Came home, had some lunch and cleaned up the mess I made yesterday while clipping the hedges.

That's about it....I'm going to hook up the trailer later so Mom and I can get up and go riding early tomorrow before it gets hot.

But here's Baby Jonas, 11 weeks old and about 14 pounds....I really don't think he'll be as big as Kacie is...

New Mulch

Went to Lowe's today and got some mulch and a few other things. Didn't get enough mulch but here's what it's going to look like when it's done.

While I was out there Kacie mortally wounded a big mouse. I felt bad for him because he looked like a big hamster. I wanted to kill him, but I couldn't so I put him somewhere to die in peace. Yes....I know it would have been way more humane to bash him with the shovel and put him out of his misery, but I just can't.

June 5-The Graduate

Here's what a tired High School Graduate looks like! She had a blast at Project Graduation and was worn out the next day.

Nothing exciting happened today, went to Joe's Crab Shack on the way to the airport to drop off Kathleen. That was about it!

June 4-Alyssa Graduates!!

yummy margarita....

ok...I didn't take any pictures today....and I just had one of John's killer margaritas so I don't think I have any coherent thoughts to put down...

sooooo, I will leave you with this picture that John took with his Blackberry of the dogs at the lake.....it was Jonas's first time at the lake...

Twisted Root

Headed down to Dallas for lunch/dinner for a Twisted Root Burger! YUM YUM YUM!

After lunch we went down to the West End and I can't believe how dead that place is now. All the shops have closed up, so we really didn't do too much other than walk around.

Here's Kathleen's Western Burger...

June already!!!

Had a great day today. Kathleen and I went trail riding in the Grasslands. Weather was great, and the horses were good for the most part. (Skippy had some "Skippy issues" but was pretty good).

I couldn't print out a map so we were doing the trail from memory. Well, we went right when we should have went left and added probably 5 more miles onto our trail!! Thankfully at one point Kathleen found a map on the ground so we at least knew where we were!!

Skippy had a breakthrough and actually drank from the scary water trough with the concrete around it and the fish in it! We were relieved to see him drink!!

We probably rode 5 miles more than I had planned, I've never been so happy to see the trailer!!!

Then we had to hurry home, take a shower and then go see the One Act Play at the High School....I'm beat now and I'm going to bed...
