Saturday

Nice normal Saturday finally. Got up this morning then went to get a roundbale for the horses. Ivan lost some weight while he has been sick, so I figure it will be nice to have hay in front of him 24/7.

Then I headed into Ft Worth to go shopping with Allison and her friend Morgan. I hate shopping....I must have been born without the shopping gene or something. We were there an hour or so. We both found some things at Old Navy, she found some things at JC Penney and then we headed home.

I was really thirsty and wanted to find a QT, but we didn't pass any so I didn't get my diet vanilla coke....

So now it's a quiet night at home watching the Texas/Oklahoma State game.

Rain...seriously??

How will Ivan ever get rid of the rain rot if it never stops raining!! This is so frustrating.

I went out and gave him his medicine and then the sky opened up and it started pouring AGAIN! My pasture and yard are totally flooded....I don't think it will ever dry up...

Smelly stuff

Ivan is way better...we still have some crusties, but nothing like it was. His temp is normal, he's acting normal.....yea yea yea!!

So I'm going to throw in a two-fer for today since I'm feeling pretty good today!!

Yea for second opinions!

I'm so glad I had that second vet come out last Friday. Ivan is sooo much better...

Inside Olive

Oh yeah...Olive has decided that she is going to be an inside cat. I really didn't want another animal in the house, but she doesn't want to be outside and I feel bad when she is standing by the door meowing at me...so I'm letting her stay in...

GREAT DAY!!

Woke up this morning to find Ivan grazing in the pasture!!! Haven't seen that for about 3 weeks or more. I guess the meds the new vet gave him are working and he feels way better now. The swelling in his legs has gone down, his fever has gone down, and he actually has energy now!

Took Jonas out for a while this morning while I checked on Ivan, then got ready for church. Gateway was awesome as always then we had to drive into Dallas to take Alyssa to the bus to head back to Austin.

We stopped at a Cold Stone where some dude who did not speak much english worked. We had to tell him how to make the freaking ice cream....very scary...

But the ice cream was good since I've been craving ice cream forever!!

Long week...

Sorry, I've been a loser and not posting a picture a day...but with Ivan being sick it's about all I can do to keep up with eating!!

Friday a different vet came out and put Ivan on some different stuff. Hopefully we can get this crap cleared up soon...he is just miserable....

oh...and Olive the outside cat says she wants to be an inside cat..

Busy Saturday

Had a busy day, mostly just taking care of Ivan. I took him to the vet this morning and they put him on steroids. I hope it works...I couldn't tell you what the vet was saying, but some of it was scary...But I asked him what he would do and he said "steroids" so that's what we're doing.

Gave him another iodine bath and clipped him a little on the bad spots. I figure it might help if air can get to the spots. I put him in the backyard and he actually grazed out there for hours, but once I put him in the pasture he went back to just standing.

Alyssa is in Dallas for the Texas/OU game and snuck into the game so she got to see the second half!! I shouldn't be proud of her for sneaking into the game...but what the heck!

Took the dogs out for a bit too....They had fun of course and Griffey went swimming!

Oct 16 Iodine Bath

Gave Ivan a good scrubbing on Friday. Then put on his cooler and turned him out in the back yard. He seemed to be happy, but John said after I left he just stood in one spot and didn't eat.

His lack of energy and normal happy self if really freaking my out...but I guess he is covered in itchy nasty skin and has a fever....

Oct 15-Poor sick pony..

This is what Ivan does all day...stands and looks pathetic. I hope and pray this infection clears up soon and he gets better....

Ivan's medicine

Poor Ivan has been battling this horrible skin infection. Went to the vet Monday morning, which is why there is no picture from Monday or Tuesday. Well, Tuesday I had group, then work...so no time to take any pictures.

Ivan loves his medicine because he gets it in soaked alfalfa cubes. I also gave him some electrolytes and some carrots and I think he is feeling a little better since he was actually in the pasture grazing today instead of just hanging out in the shed. I went to TSC today and got a gallon of iodine and gave him a good bath today. Then I brushed some of the crusties off after they were wet from the bath.....

I hate sick animals....sometimes it's hard to tell if they are getting better or worse...

11 Oct-Cold Sunday

I was FREEZING on Sunday.....wore a long sleeve shirt and sweater for church and was still FROZEN! Church was awesome though...(cept for the freezing part). Jon Egan and the Desperation Band was there and they are amazing. I love them!

Came home and was still freezing...so I tried to get warm on the couch. Watched Footloose and took a little nap....than made some COFFEE! The coffee was heavenly!!

MUD!

I freaking hate mud...it's been rainy and nasty for a week or so. The pasture and the horses and the dogs are all muddy messes!!

And they love each other!!

Same ole day today....dogs romping in the muddy pasture....playing with snot nose babies at work!!

Here's a picture of poor Ivan and his weird spots....they seem to be getting better but they look pretty rough in this picture.

Tuesday morning I took the dogs out in the pasture...it was crazy muddy, but Jonas was just crazy so I HAD to take him out!! I'd rather have muddy floors than a nutso dog.

Pretty Olive

It's amazing how good Olive looks now. She was just skin and bones when she found us and in just 2 weeks she looks great!!

She's going in on Monday to get fixed!! YEA!! No kittens here!

Oct 1-2

2 loser days in a row, but I felt sick Thursday at work and then spent the night being nauseous, so taking pictures wasn't on the agenda.

Called in sick for work which is something I really hate to do, but no way could I have went in...plus I don't want to make the babies sick.

Sep 30-trip to the vet

Ivan has some freaky bumps on him, so Wednesday morning I loaded him up and took him to the vet before work. Thankfully I got there early so there was "only one cow in front of me" lol!!

We think it's fungal/allergy related so I've been doing betadine scrubs...hopefully it will clear up soon. But I love my vet...only cost me $60!

loser day...no pics!! But I had a busy day, went to my bible study group then work...so I was gone all day long...

whoa....busy week....and I'm almost a week behind...

but apparently Monday morning I took the dogs out for a pasture romp!!
