Baccalaureate

Went to Alyssa's Baccalaureate today. Had never been before since they really don't have them in the north, but they do in Decatur Texas. It was really nice, went to a local church, the kids wore their cap and gowns and heard some speakers and listened to some music.

One big bummer of the day though...Alyssa heard that the Jo Bros WOULD be at church today...but we weren't due to her Baccalaureate....major bummer...

When we got back, I had some stew, cleaned out the crock pot and Kathleen and I rode the horses a bit before it got dark!

May 30 Alyssa's graduation party

Went to the airport in the morning to pick up Kathleen. Then it was time to come home and get ready for the party. Mom had made the girls clean up the house and apparently she was a slave driver in her past life according to Allison.

I had mom and Kathleen make most of the food since I was sick. We had a bunch of appetizer type snacks and those teenagers devoured almost all of it! The Skyline dip lasted maybe 10 minutes before it was gone. I think the pizza things lasted 5.....

I think Alyssa had fun and there was a good turnout. Afterwards a bunch of the kids went to see the movie UP.

I took a walk with Mom and Kathleen and my foot is screaming in pain now...

Where did the time go???

We are having Alyssa's graduation party tomorrow. Today Mom and I went to the commissary in Ft Worth to get stuff for the party. We also attempted to trim up the bushes out front a bit.

Mom ironed Alyssa's gown today and we're letting it hang a day and going to iron it again since there were some pretty deep creases in it.

May 28 still sick...

yep...still sick.....went to a REALLY boring Senior Banquet with Alyssa....

May 27-still sick....

Still sick....picked up mom at the airport and Jonas had dirty feet....too busy to write more...

I'm sick.....

Hopefully it's just allergies but I feel like crap......so nothing exciting happened today. Just a few naps and a thunderstorm this evening.

Happy Memorial Day

Too nice a day to sit at home so Allison and I took Jonas to check out a local state park. It looked like a nice little place to camp, but we don't have a camper!! You can ride there too, but the trail is mostly gravel and Ivan doesn't have shoes yet and the gravel would hurt his sensitive feet!

Jonas was NOT a fan of the leash....but we aren't rule breakers so he had to wear one. A few times we had to carry him because he wouldn't walk any more!!

May 24- Quiet Sunday

Had a nice Sunday. Woke up early of course (puppy) and had some breakfast, coffee and even cleaned up the house a bit BEFORE church!! Now, we went to the 12:30 service so doing all those things before church isn't that big of a deal, but it was nice to get home from church to a clean house.

Went out in the back yard with Alyssa and the dogs for awhile and Alyssa was dancing and singing with her ipod. She is such a talented child!!

Busy busy day today...went to Ft Worth to get Allison an ipod and go to the Commissary. We also went to Kohl, Kirklands, Rack Room Shoes, and Marshalls. I need a new dress for Alyssa's graduation events, but can't find anything. Hopefully I'll have better luck when I go with my mom.

I did find the Adidas sweat pants I wanted though...they were $15!!! Last time I saw them, they were on SALE for $30.....Marshalls rules!!

yardwork

Ok...I really hate yardwork, but I am going to try to make the flowerbeds look nicer. So I'm going to get some new mulch and some cute edging stuff and make it look better. But first these dead trees had to go. John hooked some chains up to the truck to get the first one out. The second one didn't seem to want to cooperate so John gave up (he was having an allergic reaction to the trees so I don't blame him). So I put on a glove and the 2nd dead tree came out.

I need to get some new mulch, new dirt to fill in the holes and maybe some more flowers....who knows...

But an old one!! I've been looking for stuff for Alyssa's graduation party and I found this pic. It's her getting on the bus on the first day of Kindergarten. Seems like just yesterday!!

I am sleep deprived....

And Jonas is the reason!! But no more...tonight it's time for tough love. He's going to sleep in the crate UPSTAIRS so we can't hear him cry like a little monkey man. Alyssa will take the first shift and then I'll get up and take him out....then I will crawl back in bed and SLEEP!

I don't mind getting up early with him, but when I am up all night I can't function and I haven't been able to get anything done...

Alyssa's graduation present

No Gateway Group today since we're done for the summer. That makes me sad because I really liked it, but we will meet a few times over the summer.

John's been wanting a Blackberry Storm so he could surf the blocked sites at work...so today we went to Verizon at lunch. John got the storm, and we got Alyssa the Blackberry Curve for a graduation present.

Didn't do anything else productive......I'm majorly sleep deprived since we got the puppy. I really need to get something to contain the little guy at night. He sounds like a monkey in his crate, so that won't work...I guess I could put him upstairs, but then I would still have to let him out at some point and I don't want to walk all the way up there....

Wow....that's a big dog!!

Jonas says, "OMG!! That's the biggest dog I've ever seen!!!"

New toy!!

After church today Allison and I headed to Kohl's to find Allison a new dress, which we did and it's cute. Then we went to Petsmart to find Jonas some new toys....

Oh...let me tell you how tired I was last night...at 3 A.M I picked up what I THOUGHT was the puppy and took him outside.....only it wasn't Jonas, it was CHARLIE the cat!!! Oopps!! Didn't realize it until I put him in the grass.....man oh man I was tired. Charlie just looked at me like, "uh...I'm not supposed to be out here!!"

I can't believe her hair turned out!!

Ok....I am "hair challenged". Seriously....can't do hair, never good with the whole hair/make up thing. Alyssa never got around to making a hair appointment for prom, so it was up to good ole mom. She had an idea of what she wanted...so I posted the question of "how" on my Disney board, (those people know EVERYTHING), got some tips, and this is what we ended up with!!!

Prom a day early!

I wanted to play with my camera so I had Alyssa put on her prom dress from last year and we went out to take some pictures. She decided that she wanted to wear it tomorrow night to the Decatur prom, but it needs to be cleaned and tomorrow is not enough notice!!!

I had told her to wear it, but she wanted a new one. When she put it on tonight she said, "well, I forgot how pretty it is!!"

First trip to the pasture

Took Baby Jonas out to play in the pasture for the first time today. After he stopped whining and looking back at the house he realized that it was really fun!!

Can you believe my fence is done??!!

After a LOT of drama my fence finally got finished. I won't go into all of the drama involved in this fence or I will just get mad all over....but ask me later and I might tell you.

The horses were happy to get the new addition with new grass and stuffed themselves silly today!!

May 12-Take me out to the Ballgame

Went to the Rangers game and saw them beat Seattle! YIPPEE!! I am good luck for the Rangers. Our seats weren't great, but we still had fun. I had a hot dog and some garlic fries YUM!!

Alyssa couldn't go because of rehearsal, so Allison took her friend Whitney and they had a blast.

Came home and was up all night thanks to Baby Jonas who has his days and nights confused....

Goodbye Carl

Well, we sold Carl today. It was a fun car to drive but I just didn't want Allison driving it. So we sold it to a high school senior who was VERY excited to drive it away!!

So now instead of being Alyssa's RX-8 it belongs to Candice!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Trying to lose weight and not doing a bad job, but Allison likes to sabotage me. For Mother's Day she made me a cake....it's not the prettiest cake, but it's YUMMY!!!

May 9- RENT!!

Went to Dallas to see the Broadway Musical Rent. It was really good and had 2 of the original cast members from the orignal Broadway production. I hate the movie Rent, but the show was incredible!! Our seats were kind of sucky, but I didn't have the money for the good seats so it was either sucky seats or not go and the girls voted for sucky seats!!

Then we went downtown Dallas and ate at the Twisted Root Burger place...YUM!!

May 8-What's for dinner??

Cleaned out the garage

Had a semi busy day....took Ivan to the vet and got his coggins/rabies/west nile for $57 total...I love this vet. No frills, but cheap and fast!! Plus they are really nice and you don't need an appointment.

Well, somehow when I was unhooking the trailer I pulled something in my neck and it hurts REALLY BAD!! Can't turn my head to the right without crazy amount of pain...hopefully it will be better tomorrow cuz this sucks...

Anyway....even thought my neck hurt BAD apparently I had the cleaning bug and I started sweeping out the garage and went through a few boxes. Found some of Alyssa's old cheer uniforms and when I walked into the house I found her modeling them for her friend Katie. Here she is with her top from middle school at Greenwood and then the skirt is from 10th grade at Rosewood.

sooo tired.....

Jonas had a hard day. Went to the vet and got his first set of shots....then he came back and was going to watch a little tv with his buddy but he fell asleep.....

omg I am tired....

New Puppy equals no sleep. John and I put the little guy in our bed last night...bad bad bad I know.....but we were tired!!!

Anyway...got up early after a long night with no sleep and went to my group. Group was really interesting, but also very hard to stay awake after last night!!

Today calls for a twofer!! Baby Jonas starts off on the bed....(which is the cats bed, but they never use it anymore) and then will slide off......he sleeps like the dead!!! LOL!! Being a puppy is hard work!!

Kids don't have school for the next two days because of the swine flu. I don't feel well....maybe I have the swine flu....

Baby Jonas comes home...

Baby Jonas is home and he does NOT like the crate. I think it's going to be a long nite!! So far he had one accident in the house, but not a big deal.

Yard got flooded today, crazy rain for about an hour or so. I think it's going to storm again later.

May 1-Not the day I had planned...

First off HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKIPPY!! For his birthday he got sprayed with fly spray since the bugs were eating him up!!

Friday's plan was to take Allison to her lesson after school and then go to the casino with John and Alyssa. Well, as soon as we turned on the highway I noticed the truck acting very funny, so I called Vicky and canceled the lesson and headed back home. Stupid truck just has a coolant leak and there was NO coolant, so I am 90% sure that is the problem since the same thing happened before when it all leaked out. I thought we had it fixed, but I guess not.

We were then going to go to the casino and I checked the weather and it looked bad. Tornado watch, hail, horrible rain and wind, so we decided to be smart and stay home. Turned out that it DIDN'T storm like they had thought it would, but I guess it's better to be safe then sorry. So we stayed home and watched Ghost Whisperer and ordered Pizza.
